Cessna 172 S Equipped with Nav II Package

All of our Cessna’s are equipped with avionics and safety features. They are the ideal platform for your private and instrument training. This Next Generation Skyhawk is less complex, and fun to fly; the perfect platform for training. The Cessna Skyhawk is new, modern, higher performance aircraft loaded with advance avionics. They are equipped for today’s world and today’s pilots, featuring the moving map GPS, autopilots, and multi-function displays.

Cessna 172S NavIII G1000 Glass Cockpit

Piper Seminole

The advanced-training (as defined by the FAA) Seminole is sleek, strong, consistent and smart. Powerful twin 180 HP Lycoming engines make the Seminole the only true multi-engine trainer available today, providing a unique and vital advanced instrument training opportunity. Students have the ability to perform advanced maneuvers and procedures.

Each Piper’s interior is designed with maximum comfort and durability in mind. The ergonomic seating helps keep both the students and instructors relaxed, making their ability to focus on the flight and lesson easier.

Our 2004 PA44-180 IFR/GPS/HSI is equipped with:

  • S-Tec 55 Auto Pilot with Alt Pre-select
  • Dual Garmin 430s moving map GPS
  • NavCom with Glide Slope and Traffic Overlay (TIS)
  • Garmin Mode S Transponder, HSI

RedBird MCX Simulator

The Redbird MCX is an ideal training platform providing enhanced training from student pilot to professional crew. It comes equipped with an innovative 3-axis electric motion platform. This one-of-a-kind system provides effective motion feedback for yaw, pitch, and roll.

The dual controls of the MCX allow an instructor, instructor-in-training, or co-pilot to perform maneuvers from the right seat. During initial pilot training, an instructor can demonstrate maneuvers from the right seat before the student tries their hand, just like a pilot would do in the real airplane. Its full dual control system allows you to simulate real-world Crew Resource Management (CRM) situations.

Frasca TruFlite Simulator

McAir Aviation’s Frasca TruFlite Simulator and sub-systems are designed to provide realism by combining experience with developing technology.

The Frasca TruFlite Model 142 is a re-configurable, flight training device (FTD). It is versatile, robust, and inventive offering training in two different types of aircraft. The Cessna 172 Skyhawk and Piper Seminole are both represented in McAir’s custom built simulator. Perfect for all students in nearly every stage of training, the TruFlite makes a lasting contribution.

Training in the Frasca TrueFlite is an integral part of your overall training at McAir. It allows you, our student, to experience a variety of scenarios safely. Scenarios which otherwise would not be possible in an actual aircraft.
